I got into the trades the way most people do — working alongside someone who knew what they were doing. In my case, that was my uncle, a finish carpenter who'd been building custom kitchens and millwork for three decades. I started sweeping floors at sixteen. By twenty, I was running my own jobs.

Over the years, I've worked for general contractors, done my time on large commercial projects, and watched how renovation companies scale. Most of them scale by adding project managers and subcontractors, which is fine — that's how you grow a company. But it changes the relationship between the homeowner and the person actually doing the work.

I chose a different path. Wilson & Co. is just me. When you hire me, you're hiring one craftsman who takes full responsibility for your project. I show up, I do the work, I answer my phone. There's no salesperson who disappears after you sign, no project manager who's juggling twelve jobs at once, no chain of subcontractors who've never met you.

This isn't the fastest way to build a renovation business. But it's the way I prefer to work. Every project gets my full attention. Every client works directly with me. And every space I build reflects the care and craft that comes from one person seeing a project through from start to finish.
